Apply to brand opportunities as a UGC creator

Equipment, portfolio and editing are useless if you never reach a brief. Applying is a craft: read the ask, show evidence and do not sell yourself as an influencer if the job is a product video.

This guide closes the four foundations of how to become a UGC creator. At the end there is a nofollow registration link to the platform that lists briefs. Read it all: a bad first message burns more than a short portfolio.

Read the brief like a short contract

Before you shoot, mark format, length, language, use (organic or paid), deadlines, product shipping and revision rounds. If a point is missing, ask. Assuming “all use forever” causes most fights.

If the brief wants a tone your portfolio does not show, do not apply “just in case”. Apply where your evidence fits. Brands filter noise.

What to send

Three relevant portfolio links, real availability and one sentence on why your angle fits. No two-page CV and no Pinterest moodboard.

If they ask for a rate, give a range and what it includes (versions, paid, travel). Endless “TBD” delays the job. Price duration and rights, not followers.

What you do not improvise

Do not promise dates you cannot hit. Do not use copyrighted music on a paid delivery. Do not copy another creator’s script on the same brief. Do not post the take if the deal was file-only.

If the product does not arrive, say so the same day. Silence is worse than a communicated delay. Log shipments and versions.

Revisions and professionalism

One revision round against the brief is normal. Five rounds of “more energy” with no criteria is not. Ask for timestamps. If the change leaves the brief, it is extra work.

Speak as a supplier, not a fan. UGC is a job with a delivery, not a favour in exchange for “exposure”.

Where to apply

Opportunities live on brief platforms, not in Instagram comments. Register, fill the profile with the same portfolio pieces and apply only to what you can deliver this week.

The button on this page opens creator registration on an external destination. It is nofollow: this guide stands alone if you never click. If you do, bring an ordered portfolio.

Frequently asked questions

Should I apply to every brief?

No. Apply where the portfolio proves the format. Ten generic applications weigh less than two precise ones.

What if I get no reply?

Keep applying. Silence is not a verdict. Improve the first portfolio piece and the message subject.

Do I always get paid?

Professional UGC is paid. Be wary of “product and exposure” as the only compensation unless you accept a written trade and it suits you.
